Bumble Rumble is a collarette-type dahlia known for its small, 3–4 inch, pollinator-friendly blooms and distinctive two-tone petals. It is grown mainly for its whimsical look and strong garden presence rather than for very large flowers. The blooms have deep pink to raspberry outer petals that are streaked or swirled with lighter pink or white tones, giving a berry-and-cream effect. Inside this ring of larger “ray” petals is a shorter, ruffled collar of pale to white petaloids surrounding a golden yellow open center that is highly attractive to bees and other pollinators. Plants generally reach about 24–40 inches tall, making them a medium-height dahlia suitable for borders and cutting gardens. The flowers are borne on branching stems, so plants can produce a good number of blooms over the season when regularly deadheaded.Bumble Rumble typically flowers from midsummer to frost when planted in spring, providing color for an extended period. Its open center and bright collar make it especially useful in pollinator-friendly plantings and as a conversation piece in mixed borders or bouquet work.
