Le Baron is a decorative dahlia with rich, saturated purple-toned blooms on robust, mid-sized plants.​  Le Baron produces fully double, decorative-style flowers in deep magenta to purple shades that often look darker toward the center, giving real depth and dimension. Blooms are typically medium to large in size, carried on long stems that suit cutting and summer–fall bouquets.​  Plants grow in an upright, clump-forming habit and reach roughly 36–48" tall under good conditions. The foliage is deciduous and divided, typical of dahlias, providing a lush backdrop for the dark, jewel-toned flowers.​  Le Baron is used as a classic border and cutting-garden dahlia, where its strong stems and long blooming season from summer into fall make it reliable for arrangements. The variable purple and raspberry tones also lend themselves well to rich, moody color palettes in mixed plantings and bouquets.​
