These flowers often appear after rain in spring through summer, making it a vigorous, low-maintenance plant for gardens or containers.  It has characteristic sideways-facing, bell-shaped pink blooms amid grassy foliage, typical of Habranthus robustus in a garden setting. and it grows 0.8-1 foot tall and 0.4-0.5 foot wide with moderate growth.  It thrives in full sun with medium to high water needs and good drainage, and is suitable for rock gardens, borders, or xeriscaping; drought0-tolerant once established.

They are similar to Zephyranthes, but the flowers face to the side and are very large. It is hard to find true Habranthus for sale. These are native to south America. Great outdoors in the south, excellent for indoor pots and plants. Tollerates any soil type, and easy to grow. Blooms several times each summer, after heavy rains (hence their common name " Rain Lily "). Hardy in zones 8-11, elsewhere dig and store for the winter.
